Photos

Somewhere along the way, I forgot why I was blogging about the photos that I take. I simply let blogging become another thing on my to-do list instead of allowing it be an easy way to share photos that bring me joy. I miss sharing pictures with you and with the random internet. I think this is because sometimes there are no words to explain certain things in life, only pictures can do those moments justice, and this blog is my way to share those moments. Hopefully, in the months to come I can remember that....

~Playing outside

Over the Holidays we were luckily able to enjoy a few visits from my sister and her family. Of course, this opens the opportunity for a few snapshots which I can never resist.

This was an attempt at getting a Christmas card photo, but I love the way Maggie just stares at sweet little Lila. I know that dog will be protecting that child forever.


Then we went outside to play ball with the dogs and get a little fresh air. The sky was beautiful even though the sun was a little bright. Everyone loves to get together for this sort of family fun, but I especially enjoyed hanging back with my camera!

~Adventures North

On a recent trip to Minneapolis I enjoyed my first trip to the Mall of America! Although I have heard of this wonderful place before, I never imagined a mall complete with an amusement park, lego world, and of course hundreds of stores.

Lego world was huge and it was amazing to see the structures that were created.


We enjoyed building and racing cars, plus my childlike husband even made a new friend with similar interests.


Then it was off to the amusement park and indoor rides! I must say that the craziest part was cresting the hill on a roller coster, while looking at the roof beams a few feet away from your head!


We also took time in the cold weather to visit Walker Sculpture Gardens, where art is bigger than life!






We then walked to a nearby bridge that leads to downtown Minneapolis. The bridge is art on it's own, with scrawling poetry along the beams and colors that morph and blend with the sky. This was by far my favorite site on the trip!

~All boy!

First, let me apologize for my long absence. I must confess that I have not been lacking in picture taking, but instead in the time to upload and sort all the images. That being said, these photos will take us back to a brisk fall day in Iowa. We traveled for a wedding, however my darling nephew became the focus of my photos in no time.

Bo and I spent the afternoon playing and running around is his beautiful yard.





I just can't get enough of this smile...




He's also a born athlete, I can't wait to see what this kid can do!

~Overflowing with Pink

So one might wonder if the novelty of becoming an aunt might wear off, due to the recent blessings in my life. But I want to assure you that upon meeting my third niece last week, I was just as overjoyed as the day I drove from Knoxville after class to meet Abigail within hours of her birth.

Lila Bea Thigpen was born September 17 at 4:21am at a wonderful 6lbs 13oz. We made the trip to Atlanta and captured some great 2.5 week old pictures...







Needless to say we had a great weekend with Laura, Matthew, Lila, and Maggie. We took a walk in the park, watched lots of football, and of course snuggled with Lila!

Then she spends time with my sister, who is one of the most natural mothers that I have ever seen. No stress, thoughtful actions, and everything that this little girl needs...






The other 95% of the weekend, you could find Ms. Lila Bea snuggled up in one of these comfy places...






I would prepare yourself to see a lot of this little one because she moves me to get out the camera and try to capture her tiny features! Plus, did I mention Lila and her mommy are spending this week in Franklin?!
